Director, Software Engineering

Job Duties: Manage a team of software engineers and architects working on multiple projects within our product engineering department. Develop algorithmically complex, analytical, extremely scalable software solutions as a part of our product business offering. Provide technological and managerial guidance and supervision to a team of algorithm engineers. Develop high quality world class user interface applications including Web, Flex, and mobile apps. Drive new technologies and best practices into the organization and manage teams across many globally distributed projects involving a variety of technologies. Ensure consistent software design and implementation methodologies, together with the Software Systems Architect. Evaluate engineering staff and work with the team to improve skills and software engineering processes. Attract, recruit, and retain top talent. Manage the budget for engineering development activities and provide timely and accurate forecasts. Provide compelling executive representation of our technology, products and technical team to our customers and partners. Build and maintain a design partnership with our strategic customers. Analyze technology trends in the market and perform competitive analysis to drive technology and product decisions.
Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related field such as Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. In addition to degree, position requires a minimum of 10 years of enterprise level experience in software development including: developing and managing highly algorithmically complex enterprise products; designing and using correlation and analytics algorithms at scale; developing and managing the delivery of customer facing products and Graphical User Interfaces; designing User Experience (UX) including interaction, visual design, and information architecture; developing software with the agile development methodology; building and managing engineering relationships with customers; designing, managing, and delivering products using Java, C++, and Relational Databases; designing, managing, and delivering products using HTML, JavaScript, and Flex. Within the experience noted above, must have a minimum of 5 years experience at a director-level including managing large engineering teams (more than 40 engineers) distributed across different geographies. Position requires international travel to Russia and China.
